There are two things I don’t like about the New Nintendo 2DS XL. First? Its name. That mishmash of letters and numbers actually means something if you’ve followed Nintendo for the last 10 years. If not?

Let’s break this down from the viewpoint of someone who has, say, a six-year-old and is looking to buy them a system. They don’t game, but their kid wants Mario. What is the New Nintendo 2DS XL?
This is not the second DS, despite the name. It’s sort of the third. The DS means “dual screen.” That name spawned in 2004 with the launch of the Nintendo DS. Next came the Nintendo 3DS. That system allows for glasses-less 3D gaming, thus the 3DS. Got it?

Then Nintendo decided that maybe kids, who weren’t supposed to be using the 3D, could use a 2D version of the system that played the same games. Enter the 2DS.
What about the XL? Well, there’s already a 2DS. It’s slate-like in design. The XL has screens that come close to what we have on the 3DS XL, only without the 3D.
Then there’s the “New” part of the name. Yes, that actually means something. The New Nintendo 2DS XL features slightly better system hardware, an extra pair of shoulder buttons and an analog nub on the right side of the system that serves as a second stick while gaming.
If you either have kids who shouldn’t use 3D or are an adult looking to upgrade while leaving that feature behind, the New Nintendo 3DS XL is a great little machine. It plays every game the 3DS offers, including the handful of “New” exclusives and the SNES Virtual Console titles.

In June, Wonder Woman debuted to critical acclaim and broke multiple box office records. Now, after traveling to Themyscira and back and through the trenches of World War I with Gal Gadot’s Lasso of Truth-wielding heroine, it’s time to meet the men and women responsible for creating her in Professor Marston and the Wonder Women.
Written and directed by Angela Robinson, the 1940s-set film chronicles the lives of Professor William Marston (Luke Evans), who created Wonder Woman under the pseudonym Charles Moulton, and the two women who inspired her: his wife, Elizabeth (Rebecca Hall), and the couple’s romantic partner, Olive Byrne (Bella Heathcote). As the new trailer teases, Wonder Woman, among other things, is an amalgamation of William, Elizabeth, and Olive’s concerns with psychology, feminism, bondage, and pacifism.
While the movie is about Wonder Woman’s creation, it’s mainly concerned with exploring this unconventional relationship and William, Elizabeth, and Olive, who had to keep their relationship a secret at the time. And, the trailer, which opens and closes with Josette Frank (Connie Britton), one of Marston’s detractors, questioning him about the contents of the comic, frames their story as one of them against a world that might not understand them. “The world won’t let us,” says Elizabeth in the trailer, to which Marston replies, “The world can’t stop us.” Because of the need for secrecy, there’s this sense that the Wonder Woman comic became their means of exploring what they had to keep hidden.
“For me, not to get heady about it, the dialectic in the movie was between fantasy and reality, and that they really found freedom in their lives in this notion of fantasy, be it role play [or] the comics,”
says Robinson.

Apple won’t release a successor to the 4-inch iPhone SE, according to analyst Pan Jiutang. The Cupertino company has reportedly scrapped the plans to release a refreshed variant of the handset, because demand has shifted from sub-5-inch smartphones.

To fill the gap the iPhone SE will inevitably leave, Apple is expected to take the wraps off a 4.7-inch iPhone 7s, which should feature the firm’s latest A11 processor and an enhanced camera, alongside the much-anticipated iPhone 8 in September.
As for the iPhone 8… Well, that’s rumored to be Apple’s most-impressive smartphone to date, sporting an all-glass design, an edge-to-edge OLED display à la Galaxy S8, an optical Touch ID sensor and wireless charging capabilities (hurrah!).
For now, it would be wise to take Jiutang’s claim with a hefty pinch of salt. Recently, a number of other analysts have predicted that Apple will, in fact, release a successor to the iPhone SE — and it’s not uncommon for one to go rogue and suggest the opposite.

It looks like Samsung and Apple will once again set aside their differences in order to produce next year’s iPhone.

Just a few months ago, reports surfaced about Samsung supplying OLED panels for the upcoming iPhone. It wasn’t much of a surprise, though, considering how the Korean tech giant owns 95 percent of the world’s OLED market share.
For Apple to choose the best-possible screen manufacturer for its tenth-anniversary flagship should be a no-brainer. What we’re learning now is a lot more interesting: Apple is reaching out to Samsung for another vital component — highly advanced chipsets.
This is a big deal, because Samsung was a major supplier of processors for Apple up until recently when TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) took over chip production for the newer iPhones.
For Samsung to produce millions of processors for next year’s iPhone would be yet another feather in the brand’s cap. If you recall, Sammy partnered with Qualcomm to design and manufacturer the high-end Snapdragon 835, which is found in competing phones such as Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium and the HTC U11.
Why would Apple go back to its rival for another batch of silicon? According to The Investor, Samsung acquired “extreme ultra violet lithography machines, the most advanced chip manufacturing equipment, to produce 7nm mobile processors solely for iPhone.”

That’s right: Sammy now has the ability to create processors smaller and more efficient than the already-tiny 10nm fabrication of the Snapdragon 835.
Putting one and one together, next year’s iPhone could merge the incredible hardware of Samsung with Apple’s unmatched iOS integration and software ecosystem.
We’re already looking forward to the iPhone which Apple will reveal in a couple of months, but whatever they’re cooking up for 2018 could blow it out of the water.

We're absolutely delighted that Game of Thrones is back because we couldn't wait any longer without our fix of the world's greatest show. Truth be told, we've never been happier to say that  winter is here!

Aside from picking apart the season opener and its hidden messages and theories, there's also plenty of fun to be gained from examining those little details that make Game of Thrones so great.
As the battle for the Iron Throne heats up, we already know that Cersei Lannister is preparing for war, especially since Daenerys has finally reached Dragonstone.
As Cersei outlined in that epic trailer, the Lannisters have "enemies to the east, enemies to the west, enemies to the south and enemies to the north." While the Queen faces a multitude of threats, there's also a pesky little prophecy that should be causing her concern.
Cast you mind back to the first episode of Season 5 as a younger version of Cersei encounters a witch by the name of Maggy the Frog.
In a nutshell, the witch's prophecy accurately predicted that Cersei would become Queen "until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear," - that's generally understood to be Daenerys.
The witch also predicted that Cersei would have three children - which  she did - before saying that her children all die and that "Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you."
We know that Joffrey, Tommen and Myrcella have all died, but what exactly does the word 'valonqar' mean? Diehard fans will already know this, but we're going to spell it out for everyone.
Valonqar is the Valyrian word for 'little brother', which in Cersei's case is Tyrion and Jaime (they're twins but Cersei was born earlier)
Now, it's likely that Tyrion would have more of a reason to kill Cersei - she always hated him and that feeling has only increased after he killed Tywin and became a trusted ally of Daenerys - but relations between Jaime and Cersei have really soured - something that was extremely clear in the latest episode.
Ok, the prophecy stated that the younger brother will "wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you"
Take a look at the image below. Cersei is standing in an area of The North that's known as 'The Neck' and Jaime is standing at the coastal location called 'The Fingers'

Earlier today we learned that Warner Bros. is planning to announce the release date of Wonder Woman 2 at Comic-Con, and just now they set two release dates for DC Comics movies in 2020.

The first will be released on February 14, 2020… aka Valentine’s Day. The second DC Comics movie in 2020 will be released in the summer on June 5, 2020.
It’s anyone’s guess as to what these movies might be. Perhaps we’ll have a better idea this weekend at the Warner Bros./DC Comics panel at Comic-Con. Let me know which movies you think would be a good fit for these release dates in the comments below.

Just as Kit Harington promised, right from the start of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 there’s tension between Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Harington’s Jon Snow.

The eldest Stark daughter almost immediately questions Jon’s decisions in front of the Northern lords. Sansa argues for breaking up the lands of the Northern houses that betrayed the Starks and fought for Ramsay Bolton by giving their castles to loyal families. But Jon, nobly yet also kind of stupidly, is like, “Nah, they cool,” and just makes their kids pledge loyalty to House Stark.
Now, it seems subtle details in the show are hinting that even darker times could lie ahead for the siblings.
In a private chat after the meeting with the Northern houses, Sansa implores Jon to listen to her and not make the same dumb mistakes their father Ned and brother Robb made. Just then, Jon gets a raven with a threatening note from Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and, again, doesn’t listen to Sansa.

After Jon basically ignores Cersei’s threats, Sansa says, “You’re the military man, but I know her. If you’re her enemy, she’ll never stop until she’s destroyed you. Everyone who’s ever crossed her she’s found a way to murder.”

“You almost sound as if you admire her,” replies Jon.

“I learned a great deal from her,” she says.
This is where some eagle-eyed fans noticed that Sansa actually paid tribute to Cersei in a bigger way during the episode—Sansa is rocking Cersei’s hairdo!

The ’do is very similar to many of Cersei’s looks from earlier episodes. (Cersei’s image above is taken from Season 3, Episode 1).
Turner already revealed in an interview with Refinery 29 that Sansa’s hair reflects the “people she’s learning from, or mimicking, or inspired by.”
The fact that she’s channeling Cersei while having a disagreement with Jon is pretty unnerving, especially considering she just said that she’s “learned a great deal” from a woman who always finds a way of murdering her enemies.
Is Sansa becoming the new Cersei? Does this foreshadow a dangerous animosity between the pair? Is there only one hairstylist in Westeros?

There have been numerous rumors surrounding the Google Pixel 2, the follow-up to last year's Pixel phone.

Google has been reluctant to reveal too much information about this forthcoming smartphone release, but YouTube channel Concept Creator has recently produced a Google Pixel 2 XL concept to whet the appetite. This channel has already created renders of other devices, with its latest effort related to the Google smartphone building on collected rumors.

Firstly, it is notable that this Google Pixel 2 XL concept features a large display, although not quite the wraparound screen that may have been anticipated. This technology has proven to be hugely popular in 2017, with Samsung introducing it in the Galaxy S8 generation, and OnePlus following suit with the OnePlus 5.
However, there is a definite design similarity between this Google Pixel 2 XL concept and the LG G6 release. This would suggest that Google will at least pay some heed to market trends when designing and developing its next flagship handset. This would make sense considering that LG is strongly expected to be involved in the manufacturing of this device.
Now, it seems the word is that Google will be sticking with just the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, and while many expected HTC to manufacture both, recent rumours have it that LG will actually be manufacturing the XL 2.
But we are impressed with the YouTube channel's attempt to render what the Pixel XL 2 could look like, taking cues from recent leaks to create the design in the video.

The LG V30 is one of the most hotly anticipated phones of the year, and thanks to some new cases, it appears we may have a good look at what to expect once it’s announced on Aug. 31.

Renders of the LG V30 that are based on factory CAD details have surfaced. Shared by @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, the images show a device that’s reminiscent of the LG G6 in design. It’s packing a tall display with slim bezels, a metal frame, and a dual rear camera setup with a fingerprint reader below it.

Spec details for this LG V30 are light, but it’s rumored that the display could measure in at around 6 inches. One of the most notable details is that the V30 may ditch the secondary screen above the main display that the V10 and V20 had before it. We can also see a charging port and speaker on the bottom of the phone and a 3.5mm headphone jack up top.
Given that the V series are flagship devices for LG, it’s likely that we’ll see the LG V30 come to market with specs that include a Snapdragon 800 series processor, at least 4GB of RAM, and a Quad HD display resolution. It’d be interesting to see LG ditch the secondary display on the V30 since that was one of the main features of the V10 and V20, but maybe LG is trying to simplify things with the V30 like it did when it ditched modules going from the G5 to the G6.
What do you think of this alleged LG V30?

After teasing us with a close-up image of a dual-lens camera, which was assumed to be from an upcoming Nokia device, the infamous blogger and phone leaker Evan Blass has finally given us an official render of the upcoming Nokia 8.

Nokia, the brand that was once essentially omnipresent, was ill-prepared for the smartphone era and lost its competitive edge in the Android vs. iOS war. Many thought Nokia would disappear into oblivion forever, and that’s why the announcement that a Finnish startup called HMD would be making Android-powered smartphones under the Nokia name was so surprising. We’ve already seen devices like the Nokia 3, 5, and 6 launch in several markets, the last of which sold out in just one minute in China.
However, things started to get even more interesting when a video surfaced in May, showing a mysterious unannounced Nokia-branded smartphone. Shortly after, we saw alleged photos of a prototype of this high-end device. Rumors claimed that Nokia would launch at least one more phone – something more high-end – dubbed the Nokia 8 or the Nokia 9 (or even both). Well, according to Evan Blass, it’s the Nokia 8 that we’ve been seeing the past few months, and it’ll be the company’s first Android-powered flagship device.
As you can see, the design seems to match what we saw before: in the promo video as well as in the images published by FrAndroid, we saw the exact same dual-lens set-up on the back of the phone. As expected, the Nokia 8 will come with two rear-facing cameras with Carl Zeiss optics. It should also feature a 5.3-inch QHD screen as well as a Snapdragon 835 processor. Indeed, it looks very similar to the three Nokia smartphones that are available right now, except it has a home button which presumably doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
We will see very soon as Evan Blass claims the phone could be unveiled as early as July 31.

Apple will allow PayPal payments in its digital stores, offering customers another check-out option on iTunes, iBooks, Apple Music and the App Store.

The partnership, rolled out Tuesday in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Mexico, Australia and parts of Europe, lets users choose the San Jose-based secure payment service — a platform that many online shoppers are comfortable with, said Brendan Miller, a payments expert and analyst at Forrester.
“PayPal is by far the most used digital payment method besides debit and credit cards,” Miller said. “That alone will mean more transactions for Apple from customers who might have been leery of using their payment information online. This translates to less carts left abandoned in checkout.”
Miller said he talks to retailers who see 20% or more of their online transactions go through PayPal. More than 40% of U.S. adults online have used PayPal in the last three months to pay for a product or service, according to data from Forrester.
PayPal will also integrate with Siri and bring PayPal’s One Touch feature to Apple ID accounts, allowing for purchases with fewer clicks, PayPal said in a statement.
Customers with an Apple ID will be able to select “PayPal” as a preferred payment method — once selected it will become the default payment method and all future purchases will be charged to the PayPal account. This includes one-time purchases as well as monthly fees such as Apple Music subscriptions and iCloud storage, PayPal said in a statement.

Avengers: Infinity War just got four new villains – and darkness is coming for our heroes.

At the Disney D23Expo on Saturday, not long after Marvel Studios premiered a secret trailer for the May 2018 film, we got a look at the Black Order – the four “children” of the mad titan Thanos.
Keep in mind, we’ve already met two of his “daughters” — Karen Gillan’s Nebula and Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, two of the beings he kidnapped and raised to fight and kill on his behalf. They have broken free of his control, but these four have not.

Here are the new characters, who truly are fresh off the shelf. They were only introduced to the Marvel Comics world in 2013:
Corvus Glaive – This enforcer, whose job was to shakedown planets for gifts that would enrich Thanos, was immortal as long as his mystical blade remained unbroken. He was married to …
Proxima Midnight – This warrior used her spear – which was forged from a sun trapped in an alternate reality – to launch a shattering attack on Black Panther’s nation of Wakanda.
Ebony Maw – Not the most powerful of the Black Order, but a brilliant and manipulative thinker who wields power of persuasion over most beings. He famously tangled with Doctor Strange in the comics.
Black Dwarf – Don’t let the name fool you. This brawler is physically hulking and has superhuman strength and nearly impenetrable muscle mass. The bigger they come, the harder they fall is a cliché – but it may apply here.
Performers for these creatures haven’t been announced, but the characters will at least partly be performed via motion capture.
We’ll be learning more as the destruction of Earth looms closer.

Fans at the live-action panel at Disney’s D23 convention got a spoonful of a surprise on Saturday with a glimpse at the first footage from Mary Poppins Returns.

The magical sequel, arriving in theaters Christmas 2018, stars Emily Blunt as the titular nanny who returns to Cherry Tree Lane some 20 years after first leaving Jane and Michael Banks (now played by Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw). EW debuted the first look at the film back in June — check out all that content here.
Prior to introducing the footage, Sean Bailey showed brand-new photos of the cast — including Lin-Manuel Miranda (as lamplighter Jack), Meryl Streep (as Mary’s eccentric cousin Topsy), and Angela Lansbury (as the Balloon Lady) — and brought out director Rob Marshall and Blunt to chat about the film.

“I think as a kid I found the idea that this magical mysterious person sort of whisking into their lives and making everything right again really comforting as a child,” said Blunt, who also spoke about following in Julie Andrews’ footsteps in the daunting role. “I found that I watched about 15 minutes of the original and then just stopped watching it because I needed to kind of try and pay homage to what Julie did but carve out new space for myself. No one is ever going to out-Julie Julie Andrews. She’s just unbelievable. There will never be anyone else like her. So I just had to do my version of her and I think we were very loyal to the books. I think she is a little more sort of acerbic and odd and vain and weird in the books. And so we went that direction a little more. So it’s my version of her!”
As for the footage from the film (which just finished principal photography a few weeks ago), Marshall showed a brief clip from the film — “a little something,” really, which even Blunt hadn’t seen — set to live music from the score, played by co-composer Marc Shaiman and the Disney orchestra.
The footage revealed the morose state of Cherry Tree Lane in London’s slump era, where the Banks family is distraught following the death of Michael’s wife. His youngest son, Georgie, flies an errant kite that gets caught in the clouds, and with the help of Jack, they pull the kite and reveal…Mary Poppins, holding the kite and descending from the clouds! Mary proceeds to bring her brand of magic—including her winking parrot umbrella and magic carpet bag—into the Banks home.
The rest of the footage showed a slew of musical moments, including an undersea bathtub adventure, a musical number where Mary and Jack hop inside a Royal Doulton bowl and transform for a pastel-painted animated performance (featuring those penguins!), Topsy’s upside-down home, and Jack and his fellow lamplighters’ wild ride through London.

The future is female.

From Daleks to Cybermen, the makers of Doctor Who pride themselves on creating characters that leave viewers hiding behind the sofa.
But the thirteenth person to take on the role of the Doctor has insisted there's one thing fans should not be afraid of - her gender.
Jodie Whittaker has been revealed to be the 13th Doctor on the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who, making her the very first woman to portray the iconic role. The news was revealed after the men’s Wimbledon finals on the BBC, with the Doctor Who social-media accounts following soon after. “I’m beyond excited to begin this epic journey, with Chris and with every Whovian on this planet,” Whittaker said in a statement. “It’s more than an honour to play the Doctor. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope. I can’t wait.” She will be replacing Peter Capaldi, who will bow out of the Whoniverse and regenerate at the conclusion of the 2017 Christmas Special.

Whittaker, a 35-year-old British actress from Yorkshire, is perhaps known best for her leading role in the crime drama Broadchurch alongside former Doctor David Tennant and Olivia Colman, as well as her other television roles in Return to Cranford, Black Mirror, Marchlands, and The Smoke. Her film credits are also varied, and include St. Trinian’s, Good, and Attack the Block. “Anyone who has seen Jodie Whittaker’s work will know that she is a wonderful actress of great individuality and charm,” Capaldi added in an additional statement. “She has above all the huge heart to play this most special part. She’s going to be a fantastic Doctor.”
The Christmas special will see David Bradley making an appearance as the first Doctor, the role originally taken by actor William Hartnell in the Sixties, meaning that three different incarnations of the Time Lord will appear in the same show.

There are probably a couple hundred fan-made or entertainment-site made Game of Thrones series recaps out there as we heard toward the premiere of season seven tomorrow, but you unless you want to spend a solid chunk of your day catching up on the last sixty episodes of the show, you might want to take a look at the only one that HBO has made itself.

The “series trailer” is a recap of sorts of the last six season, formatted in a way that more resembles a blockbuster movie trailer than anything for a TV show, but that’s the epic nature of Thrones I suppose. The trailer is incredibly adept at dodging around spoilers, as there isn’t a single character death from the show shown. Rather, its focus is on the main players of Game of Thrones and backstory of their characters, namely the Starks, the Lannisters, the White Walker invasion and Daenerys’ claim to the throne, mainly. Jon, Cersei, Arya, Tyrion and Dany get the most screen time, and given the five minute length, many characters are barely there at all like Littlefinger or Sam or Brienne. Even primary characters are only glimpsed like Sansa and Jaime.
Still, it’s a pretty solid look at the over-arching storylines of Game of Thrones since the start, and it’s the only one edited by HBO itself, so that aspect of it is top notch. I’d view it more as the ultimate hype trailer rather than anything that will explain every detail of the last six years. If you want one that’s an outright explainer, and less of a trailer, you might want to check out a decent one that GamesRadar made here. I think these are a bit tricky to make with HBO laying claim to the footage, but this is one of the betters ones I’ve found so far.
It’s fascinating to see how far we’ve come in the last sixty hours of this show, and I don’t think anyone has done a better job than HBO of putting it all together in one blockbuster small package like we see in this trailer. Watch it for yourself below, and I guarantee you’ll be twice as hyped for tomorrow night instantly.

Disney and Marvel are bringing plenty to show at their annual D23 Expo, including some brand new footage from the anticipated Avengers: Infinity War.

The footage popped up during the Marvel Studios Live-Action panel, and you can read the description below from ComicBook.com's Brandon Davis, who is attending the even
"Avengers tower comes into frame. Clips from The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3 play."
Then the new footage begins.
'We are arriving,' Mantis said to the Guardians. Teenage Groot in a seat. They describe this place as 'dangerous.' The body of Thor lands on their windshield. His hair is short. Rocket is startled. Mantis wakes him up using her powers. Thor is startled. All of the Guardians look at him, prompting him to ask who they are. The ship zips through the cosmos. Elsewhere, Wanda dodges some white energy, and it breaks a truck. Soemwhere else, Loki stands in ruin, presenting the Tesseract to someone. Peter's Spider-Sense takes off as he rides a bus. Tony prepares for battle. He is in space with the Guardians.
'Fun really isn't something one considers when balancing the universe,' Thanos said. 'This does put a smile on my face.' Gamora looks on, terrified. The Guardians observe ruin in many places across Earth and the cosmos. Thanos warps into this new world. Star-Lord battles him. Strange battles him. Spider-man, in his new suit, battles him. Winter Soldier battles on Earth. Wakanda readies to defend their territory. Cap steps out of the shadows, beared, with longer hair. Hulkbuster fights. Black Panther fights the four legged creature from Infinity. Thor's head is squeezed by Thanos. Thanos pummels Iron Man in a fight. The Guardians are all defeated. Thanos has assembled the Infinity Gauntlet. He throws energy from a hole in space."
As you can see by the first footage, Infinity War is going to be quite epic, and will include just about everyone in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. That includes Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Tom Holland, who described it as bigger than anyone can fathom.
“It needs no teasing,” Holland said to the Toronto Sun. “That movie literally needs no teasing. It’s going to be the biggest movie of all time. Believe me; no one is ready for that movie. I don’t know anything about it or what it’s about.”
In addition to Spider-Man, Infinity War will also bring in Black Panther, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Thor, Hulk, and many more.
Avengers: Infinity War is described by Marvel Studios as the culmination of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man in 2008. The movie is filming now under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

After a week of controversy over who Disney might cast in its planned live-action version of Aladdin, the studio announced it has found its wish-maker.

“Aladdin will be played by a young actor named Mena Massoud,” Walt Disney Studios production president Sean Bailey announced at the D23 Expo on Saturday. “Jasmine will be played by Naomi Scott.”

Massoud, who costars on Amazon’s Jack Ryan TV series, was raised in Canada but was born in Egypt. Scott, who is British and whose mother is from northern India, most recently starred in the Power Rangers reboot and has also appeared in The 33, the Disney Channel original movie Lemonade Mouth, and the Fox series Terra Nova.
As previously announced, “the amazing Genie will be played by the equally amazing Will Smith,” Bailey said.
Sherlock Holmes filmmaker Guy Ritchie is directing the film, which Bailey said draws influences for its city of Agrabah will draw from global influences, including the Middle East, India, and even China. Not only will the 1992 animated movie be a major influence, but the screenplay will go back to the classic Arabic folktales of One Thousand And One Nights.
He also confirmed a few other live-action projects. “Dwayne Johnson is possibly the busiest man in show business right now. Indeed it is true we are working together on a Disney inspired project called Jungle Cruise.”

If you think war in Westeros has been bloody and devastating with all those would-be kings contending for the Iron Throne, just wait until the queens get their turn to face off. We spoke to Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) about the brewing battle between their characters in season 7.

On the throne in King’s Landing is Cersei, the ruler of Westeros by a combo of marriage, misfortune, and assassination; soon-to-claim the throne at Dragonstone is Daenerys, the exiled former princess returning home to claim her birthright. It’s a rivalry that threatens to tear Westeros apart—with our beloved Starks at Winterfell potentially caught in the middle. Below is a reminder and analysis of the resources each side has and some thoughts from the stars on this clash of queens:
THEIR ARMIES
Sorry, Cersei; Dany has you overwhelmed when it comes to firepower. The Breaker of Chains has thousands of ultraloyal Unsullied, ferocious Dothraki horsemen, and, oh yes, three fully grown dragons — the Westeros battlefield equivalent of nuclear weapons. Many fans have assumed Cersei would quickly get roasted this season, but don’t count her out. “Cersei’s very smart and she’s listened to her dad, unbeknownst to everybody who judges her,” Headey says. “She’s put a lot of things in place politically, and we’ll see her cash those in.”
THEIR ALLIES
Daenerys has gathered Theon (Alfie Allen) and Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan), Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma) and her Sand Snakes, and what’s left of the devasted House Tyrell (that’d be Olenna Tyrell, played by Diana Rigg) for her cause. Cersei has the Lannister army and the crown-pledged houses of Westeros — except for the Starks and those loyal to the King in the North, Jon Snow (Kit Harington). A wild card here is Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk), who was rebuffed by Daenerys and swore to build a fleet of 1,000 ships. Could he take Cersei’s side? “Cersei thinks he’s a bit of a dick,” Headey says. “But he’s arguably dangerous in a good way, somebody else she might be able to manipulate and make use of.”
THEIR COUNSEL
Cersei has her brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and her small council to lend strategic advice (but seldom listens to any of them). Daenerys has two advisers who know her opponent’s weaknesses: Cersei’s brother Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) — whom Cersei despises — and the Red Keep’s former spymaster, Varys (Conleth Hill). But she’s very strongly willed herself and might not follow their counsel, either. “Dany forces you to think about her objectives this season,” Clarke says. “She’s practiced patience and has this savior-like quality, but now it’s game on.”
THEIR CLAIMS
Cersei married (then secretly murdered) Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy), who was first succeeded by her son Joffrey (Jack Gleeson), who was poisoned, and then her second son, Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman), who died by suicide, after which she finally seized the throne for herself. Daenerys was the daughter of King Aerys II Targaryen (David Rintoul), who was killed by Jaime during King Robert’s rebellion after Aerys went insane and… honestly, the whole history is a conflicting and confusing mess that nobody in Westeros respects much anyway — the biggest army with the greatest support among the Great Houses tends to win. “We both truly believe we deserve to be on the Iron Throne. Both of us think it’s our birthright, we both had f—ed-up dads; it’s a clash of similarities,” Clarke says.
THEIR CHANCES
Both queens have been the subject of prophecies, which have a rather spotty track record on Thrones (just ask Stannis Baratheon). Still, neither sounds all that great for Cersei. Daenerys had a vision in the House of the Undying of standing in the Red Keep’s throne room with the roof caved in amid falling snow (or ash?). Cersei was told by a mysterious crone that her children would die (check) and then a young rival would “cast you down and take all that you hold dear.” “The prophecy says somebody younger and more beautiful will take Cersei’s place, so I’m sure that’s at the forefront of her mind,” Headey says. “And since Tyrion is her Hand, she couldn’t view Dany worse.” We’re sure the feeling’s mutual.

When Apple took the wraps off iOS 11 at WWDC, one of the more intriguing announcements was Core NFC. We only knew this would expand the iPhone’s NFC functionality, but we never learned how exactly. Now we do.

According to MacRumors, the new functionality will work the same way Apple Pay does. iPhone users will be prompted with “Ready to Scan” when they hold up the phone near an item with an NFC tag. If an app uses Core NFC, a checkmark will appear on the display and if allowed, it will be able to deliver even more information about the item you are a scanning.
This would be especially useful at grocery stores. Holding up your iPhone to a specific item would then conjure up extra information like nutrition facts and some other pertinent information such as price changes.
The new NFC functionality will also be used for authentication, tracking and anti-counterfeiting. Cybersecurity company WISeKey’s CapSeal smart tags will be one of the first products to support Core NFC.
Right now, the only devices that support Core NFC are the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The iPhone 6, 6s and SE have NFC but don’t feature the new function. We also expect the next iPhone to carry the function as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launch is rumored to be a little more than a month away, but Samsung may have accidentally revealed the design of the phone in an official tweet.

Samsung’s Exynos Twitter account (which has almost 80k followers) shared a promo image for the new Samsung Exynos 8895 chipset, which is expected to be used in the Galaxy Note 8. That's not the most interesting part though as that chipset is resting on top of a phone we haven’t seen before.
At first look, you may think it’s a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, but the bezel at the top is thinner which means it's not either of those devices.
You’ll also notice how there are no hardware buttons on the right hand side of the phone, which suggests this may be just a mock-up or a shell for a new device instead of a full teaser for the Galaxy Note 8.
Rumors have suggested we should expect Samsung to include both a Bixby button and a volume rocker on that side of the device when it officially launches
This may turn out to be a generic image of a Samsung device, but considering how the company is connecting the new processor with the launch of the new phone it may be that this is the best look at the Note 8 we’ve had so far.
August 23 is the rumored launch date for the new phablet, so it won’t be long until we hear more from Samsung about the release for the new phone and exactly what spec we can expect on the latest Note phablet.
